MORE ABOUT GLOBAL INDIGENOUS MONARCHICAL ALLIANCE
Our Story
The Global Indigenous Monarchical Alliance (GIMA) was established on 25 May 2026 following international consultations among Sovereign Heads and representatives of Indigenous Monarchies. These discussions were conducted with the Alliance's Directors, H.E. Dame Nina Saleh Ahmed, Duchess of Neuquén, and Werken Reynaldo Mariqueo, Duke of Meli-Peuko, who shared a common conviction that there exists an urgent need for Indigenous Monarchies to unite in cooperation and solidarity through a single international organisation.
The Alliance was founded to strengthen, defend, and promote the rights, status, and cultural heritage of Indigenous Monarchies throughout the world. Its establishment reflects a collective response to the enduring consequences of colonisation and its legacy, which profoundly affected Indigenous nations by undermining their sovereignty, dispossessing them of their territories, and disrupting their political, cultural, spiritual, and economic institutions. The founders recognise that these historical injustices were often facilitated by colonial and Papal doctrines and imperial expansion, the effects of which continue to be felt by Indigenous peoples today.

A MAPUCHE KINGDOM IN EXILE
To remove the threat to their plans of illegal occupation of Wallmapu, on 5th Jan 1862 King Orellie I was captured and imprisoned by a Chilean government agent, put on trial and later deported to France. He valiantly returned to Chile on 3 occasions to continue the resistance, but sadly died as a result of the conditions of his earlier incarceration on 17 Sept 1878 in his hometown of Tourtoirac, France. Before his death he appointed King Achilles I as his successor. The Kingdom has survived in Exile for 163 years to the present day via a chain of successive monarchs. The present day head of the Royal House Prince Frederic I of Araucania was constitutionally elected to succeed the late Prince Antoine IV.
